Custom Massachusetts Timber Frame Will Feature Soy-Based Insulated Panels

Rendering for new timber frame and eSIPS barn style home

Here at Davis Frame and eSIPS, we are currently working on a barn style timber frame home that will feature our Energy Smart Insulated Panel System to enclose the timber frame. Most of our timber frame homes are built with traditional Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS), however we have worked with a few timber frame homeowners that preferred our panelized building system.

Traditional SIPs, consist of a solid foam core "sandwiched" between two pieces of oriented strand board (OSB).  Our eSIPS product is similar to a more traditional structural insulated panel with two major exceptions: We leave the inside wall open or "exposed" so that mechanicals can be easily installed, and second, the foam infill is partially made renewable ingredients which replaces a portion of petroleum that is typically used in traditional forms of insulation.  eSIPS insulated panels are a great alternative building method  to SIPs construction.

This new Massachusetts barn style home will feature 2,816 SF with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The first floor will have an open concept living and dining room as well as a bedroom and full bathroom. A screened in porch will be accessible from the living and dining room and is a perfect place to enjoy the warm weather. A wrap around front and side porch will also be added to the home.

The second floor will host a large master bedroom suite and a large open room that offers many possibilities for the future (large entertaining space, future bedrooms, etc)

This new custom home will be shipping sometime in November, check back this winter for construction photos for this new timber frame and eSIPS panelized home project!
